Itinerary:

DAY 01: ARRIVAL

Arrive Mauritius international airport, transfer to hotel, and rest of the day free at your own leisure. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 02: FULL DAY GUIDED TOUR: CHAMAREL & THE WILD SOUTHWEST

Breakfast at your hotel and after having your breakfast go out to be Combine visits to some of Mauritius' highlights — Seven Coloured Earth, Trou aux Cerfs, and Chamarel Waterfall — during this full-day tour. With a small group limited to 15 people or fewer, taste rum at a local distillery, indulge in a traditional 3-course lunch, and visit the Ship Model Factory in Floreal. Entrance fees and round-trip transportation from Mauritius accommodations are included.

Begin your day of adventure on Mauritius with convenient pickup at your hotel anywhere on the island. Pickup time varies according to your location, please see Additional Information section for details.  Climb into a comfortable tour vehicle with your guide and group of 15 people or fewer and relax during the journey. Your guide will provide commentary on the passing sights, including native flora and fauna. Pass through Le Morne, La Prairie, and Macondé on the way to Chamarel in the Rivière Noire District.  Arrive at Chamarel Waterfall, the country's tallest, which plunges 328 feet (100 meters) against a natural backdrop and makes for impressive photos. Next stop is the famous Seven Coloured Earth, a rainbow of striated volcanic rocks.  Continue to the La Rhumerie de Chamarel distillery, where you will sample the spirits and enjoy a traditional Mauritian 3-course lunch.  Following lunch, travel to a viewpoint over Black River Gorges National Park, then the secluded Grand Bassin Lake and the enormous volcanic crater Trou aux Cerfs.  The day's last stop is the Shop of Ship Model, where you can see skilled craftsmen at work on ship miniatures, some of which take months.

DAY 03: DOLPHINS AND VOLCANIC WONDERS TOUR INCLUDING SWIMMING WITH WILD DOLPHINS

Breakfast at your hotel and after having your breakfast go out to Combine some of Mauritius most important natural landmarks and features in this full-day private tour. Start the morning with snorkeling and swimming in a wild dolphin habitat, then head up to the top of Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant volcano. Hit the crater lake at Grand Bassin, Black River Gorges, and Alexandra Falls, then wind up at the site of the 7-Coloured Earth. Round-trip hotel transport and use of snorkel gear included.

Pass By:   Tamarin Bay You will start your day with the experience of a lifetime, and one of the most popular activities in Mauritius, swimming with wild dolphins in their natural environment. Once you get on board the speedboat, the professional and qualified skippers will start by briefing you on the important aspects of this experience. You will then head to Tamarin Bay for the dolphin encounter. The skippers will accompany you in the water when it’s your turn to swim with the dolphins. You will enjoy 2.5 hours on the open sea viewing the dolphins and swimming with them. Depending on the amount of time left, you will then go to The Aquarium, a popular snorkelling and diving site with beautiful coral and tropical fish. You will be able to enjoy the 360 degree views from the top of the volcano while taking a stroll around the crater. This dormant volcano stands at around 600m above sea level, and on clear days offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the island. Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes Admission Ticket Free Stop At:   Grand Bassin Drive by the largest reservoir in Mauritius, the Mare-aux-Vacoas, on the way to Grand Bassin, a tranquil and serene crater lake considered sacred by the Hindu population. Discover the Hindu culture by visiting the temples around the lake and enjoy the peace and quiet of the surroundings. You will also be amazed by the tall statue of Shiva and the view from the highest temple. Be sure to watch out for the monkeys and wildlife. Note: It may not be possible to make this stop in the month of February or March as the area is also a pilgrimage site during the festival of Mahashivaratree. Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes Admission Ticket Free Stop At:   Black River Gorges National Park Nature lovers will enjoy the incredible views of the Black River Gorges, the largest national park in Mauritius. Covering an area of 6754 hectares, the park is home to numerous endemic flora and fauna and provides visitors with beautiful hikes, with varying levels of difficulty. During your drive through the park and Plaine des Champagnes, you will also get to stop and admire Alexandra falls and viewpoint, and if they’re in season, like the locals, you’ll want to pick a few goyaves de chine! Your driver-guide will also take you to Chamarel village for its waterfalls and seven-colored earth

DAY 06: CATAMARAN CRUISE

Breakfast at your hotel and after having your breakfast go out to Take in the highlights of Mauritius on an unforgettable catamaran cruise, with plenty of opportunity to swim, snorkel, and even feed some reef fish. Or, if you prefer, stay on board and enjoy the views while sipping unlimited drinks from the open bar. Madiana sails from Black River Bay to Tamarin Bay, La Preneuse, Le Morne, and Benetier Island, stopping for a savory seafood barbecue lunch paired white and rose wine.

DAY 07: DEPARTURE: (B)
