Upon arrival, go deep into the park on a 3-hour game drive with your guide, who will offer commentary throughout the day. The forest and grassland around Lake Nakuru National Park are renowned for bird watching, and the reserve is also home to white rhinos, waterbucks, hippos, and a small population of rare, tree-climbing lions. At 3pm, leave Lake Nakuru for Lake Naivasha, the highest-elevation lake in the Great Rift Valley. Take in unobstructed views of the lake on a 1-hour boat ride (own expense), with stops to spot some of Navaisha’s vast bird population, watch eagles feeding, and see the hippos that wallow along the grassy shoreline. Return to shore for an early evening ride to Nairobi, then finish the tour with 6pm drop-off at your hotel.
